We have made a minor alteration to the page numbering of HIP1 which can be used immediately.

Furthermore, the Commons Registration (General) (Amendment) (England) (No. 2) Regulations 2007 will come into force on 1st October.

These 2007 Regulations revoke the procedures for official searches of the commons registers and certificates of search which were formerly prescribed under the Commons Registration (General) Regulations 1966.

Following the introduction of home information packs on 1st August, conveyancing practitioners have been able to search the commons registers by using the new form CON29O which we published on EFIS 28/2007 and 29/2007 in July.

Since it will no longer be possible to use CR21 in England after 30th September, conveyancers in England should delete this form from their system on or before 1st October and must only use CON29O after this date.

Welsh practitioners are advised to contact the National Assembly of Wales regarding the continued use of CR21 in Wales after 1st October.
