INFORMATION AND FORM DELETION ONLY - NO FORMS TO IMPORT Last year, the Legal Aid Agency announced their intention to implement the new Client and Cost Management System (CCMS). On 18th December, the Legal Aid Agency (LAA) issued a press release when they announced that all applications for legal aid work under the Special Children Act must be made using CCMS from 1st February. Please follow the link below to read this announcement:- www.gov.uk/government/news/civil-news-ccms-mandatory-for-special-children-act-applications-on-1-february-2016 The LAA thinks that this approach will enable legal aid providers to become more familiar with enhancements to CCMS. As a result of this decision, Oyez has withdrawn CIVAPP5 which should no longer be sent to the LAA in respect of any special Children Act cases made on or after 1st February. However, legal aid practitioners are advised that the LAA may still process any CIVAPP5 forms which were submitted before 1st February and which are required to manage "live" cases which began before this date. Oyez recommends that practitioners should contact the LAA to confirm and clarify details of these new arrangements. The LAA intends to make the submission of all the remaining civil applications mandatory via CCMS from 1st April and currently insists that there will be no change to this date Oyez will publish further information regarding the LAA's timetable in March for the changes which the LAA intends to introduce on 1st April.
