The Intellectual Property Office (or IPO for short) has inserted a privacy notice at the bottom of their Patents to comply with the provisions of the EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) when GDPR comes into force on 25th May.
The IPO's Comptroller has issued directions under section 123(2A) of the Patents Rules 1977 about the use of these amended Patents forms together with a guidance note which will appear in various journals and on the IPO's website from 25th May.
Although Oyez understands that the IPO may continue to accept the old versions of their forms which are presented on and after 25th May, subscribers to this range may prefer to use the latest versions of the IPO's amended forms for applications completed on or after 25th May.
We are also in the process of amending the Trade Mark forms and these will follow shortly.
