EFIS 105, November 2017 : Legal Aid
You must login to download the contents of this EFIS.
The Criminal Legal Aid (Remuneration) (Amendment) Regulations 2017 will come into force on 1st December.
In particular, these 2017 Regulations reduce the cut off threshold from 10,000 to 6,000 the number of pages which are served by the prosecution as evidence (or PPE for short).
If this PPE exceeds this threshold, then litigators can make a claim for "special preparation" because litigators are principally paid on the number of pages contained in the prosecution's evidence.
The Legal Aid Agency has amended LF1(SP) to reflect these procedural changes and the latest version of this LF1(SP) form should be used for all claims submitted on and after 1st December.
