Oyez has amended CO34 which is subject to the regime for small companies under the Small Companies and Groups (Accounts and Directors' Reports) Regulations 2008.

These 2008 Regulations were amended by the Companies, Partnerships and Groups (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2015 in respect of small companies which are exempt from audit.

CO34 contains an abbreviated balance sheet which can be used for filing purposes in relation to financial years which began before 1st January 2016 in respect of the accounts of a dormant company.

The latest period for using CO34 would be a financial year which begins on 1st December 2016 and accounts for this financial year would have to be filed by 31st August 2017.

Oyez will withdraw CO34 by the end of August 2017.

CO35 is a new form which is also subject to the regime for small companies under the 2008 Regulations as amended by the 2015 Regulations mentioned above.

CO35 contains an abridged balance sheet for filing the accounts of a dormant company in respect of a financial year which begins on or after 1st January 2016.

Because the unanimous consent of all the members of a company is required before a company can prepare an abridged balance sheet, Oyez has created the new CO36 to achieve this purpose.

CO36 is the form for use with CO35 in respect of financial years which begin on or after 1st January 2016 and can be used to obtain the unanimous consent of the company's members to the preparation of an abridged balance sheet.

Subscribers to this range should therefore use CO34, CO35 and CO36 for the purposes outlined above.
