The UK Intellectual Property Office has amended TM7 to provide for payment of variable fees which the Trade Mark Fees (Amendment) Rules 2013 will introduce on 1st October.
The UK Intellectual Property Office has also created three new Trade Mark forms which reflect provisions contained in the Trade Marks (Fast Track Opposition) (Amendment) Rules 2013 which will also come into force on 1st October.
In particular, a new Rule sets out the procedure for filing a notice of fast track opposition on the new TM7F form. TM7G is also a new form which can be used to apply to add grounds to the opposition.
When an appeal arises in proceedings between two or more people, then the notice of appeal should be served on the new form TM55P.
The amended version of TM7 and the new forms TM7F, TM7G and TM55P should not be used before 1st October when the Trade Mark Fees (Amendment) Rules 2013, the Trade Marks (Fast Track Opposition)(Amendment) Rules 2013 and the Trade Marks (International Registration) (Amendment No.2) Order 2013 will all come into force.
