On 13th June, the Government announced its intention to amend the Immigration Rules for family migration in respect of non-European Economic Area (non-EEA) nationals applying for leave to enter or remain in the UK on the basis of their family relationship with a British citizen or a person who has settled in the UK.

These amended Rules came into force on 9th July.

The UK Border Agency has amended the following Immigration forms FLR(M), FLR(O) FLR(P), SET(F), SET(M) and SET(O) to reflect these changes.

Practitioners should note that any applications made on or after 9th July must use the new versions of FLR(M) and FLR(O).

We will supply you with these amended forms later this month. Meanwhile, further information can be obtained from the UK Border Agency's website at www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk.
