Members of the Joint Working Party (JWP) who represent Oyez and the Law Society have produced a fifth edition of the Standard Conditions of Sale to reflect changes to SCS1. Explanatory notes SCS_Notes, which summarise the main amendments from the fourth edition of SCS1 are also provided.

As currently, practitioners should purchase the Conditions themselves in form SCS2 when incorporating SCS1 by reference to the fifth edition of the Standard Conditions of Sale which should be used from 1st April onwards.

An article explaining the background to these amendments appeared on page 22 of the edition of the Law Society’s Gazette dated 24th March.

Finally, a minor amendment has been made to form CON29O which is available for your immediate use.
