Following Efis No. 43/2010 earlier this month, the Home Secretary laid a Statement of Changes in Immigration Rules before Parliament on 15th July under section 3(2) of the Immigration Rules 1971 which came into force on 19th July.
This Statement of Changes in the Immigration Rules introduces an interim limit on the number of certificates of sponsorship which licensed sponsors may assign under Tier 2 of the points based system.
Immigration practitioners must use the latest version of TIER1(GENERAL) which the UK Border Agency has amended in accordance with these changes.
On 22nd July, the Minister of State for Immigration announced a further change to the Tier 4 (General) Category to make it a requirement for some students who are studying below degree level to provide evidence of having passed a UK Border Agency approved English language test.
The UK Border Agency subsequently amended TIER4(G) to take account of these latest changes which came into force on 23rd July.
We have also taken this opportunity to supply you with an update to FLR TIER1(HSMP) which the UK Border Agency previously amended.
