EFIS 20, April 2009 : Immigration - Applications

You must login to download the contents of this EFIS.

The Immigration (Biometric Registration) (Amendment) Regulations 2009 amend the 2008 Regulations by extending the categories of people who must apply for a Biometric Immigration Document which has resulted in changes to some of the forms listed above whilst other forms have been amended to reflect the introduction of increased fees payable from 6th April.

Due to the effect of these Biometric Regulations, the existing BUS form has been split into two separate application forms, FLR(BUS) and SET(BUS). Likewise the existing FLR(O) form has been separated into two application forms, an amended FLR(O) and new FLR(BID) form. We therefore advise practitioners to delete form BUS from your system(s).

In addition, the UK Border Agency will transfer applications from students into the new points based system which means that the existing FLR(S) application has been replaced by the new TIER4 (General) and TIER4 (Child) application forms. The existing TIER1 (General) and TIER4 (Post-Study) application forms have also been revised.

We will supply you with the amended TIER1 and new TIER4 application forms towards the end of April.

Although some of the above-mentioned changes came into force on 31st March and 6th April, transitional provisions allow existing Immigration forms to be used for 21 days after the new Rules have been implemented.

If you are not using Active Library, you will need to manually delete some forms. For deletion instructions, click here
