The Energy Performance of Buildings Directive requires member states of the European Union to introduce energy efficiency standards for both domestic and commercial buildings and for this process to be certified.
The Government produced the Energy Performance of Buildings (Certificates and Inspections) (England and Wales) Regulations 2007 to comply with its obligations under European Union Law.
From 1st October, an energy performance certificate is required for all domestic and most commercial properties.
We have inserted a clause on CON23, CON24, CON26 and CON26A to ensure that a tenant will not do anything which will jeopardise the energy efficiency rating or the environmental impact rating of the property, for which the landlord may be liable.
All forms should be used immediately.
