The Criminal Defence Service (Recovery of Defence Costs Orders) (Amendment) Regulations 2008 amend the 2001 Regulations by introducing discretion for the court to make no recovery of defence costs orders in certain circumstances. These 2008 Regulations came into force on 6th October.

The Ministry of Justice has amended Criminal form B in the light of these new Rules and has also inserted a reference to a new State benefit entitled �Employment and Support Allowance�.

Please also find enclosed forms CDS7, CLSCLAIM4A and EC_CLAIM(CIVIL) which have all received minor macro and field amendments.
