The Ministry of Justice has made some minor amendments to the notes N5C which accompany N5B and the notes N208C which accompany N208 to refer to a protected party rather than a patient, which was the new terminology introduced by the Mental Capacity Act 2005 last October.

The amended versions of N5C and N208C can be used on receipt but practitioners should note that no changes have been made to Form N5B nor Form N208.

Form EX160 has also received a minor amendment.

All forms can be used immediately.
