Following changes to regulations made under the Criminal Defence Service Act 2006, the Legal Services Commission has amended CDS14, CDS15, CDS16 and CDS17.
In particular, these forms have been amended to reflect changes to youth policy where it has been decided to “passport” all defendants under the age of 18.
The notes on how to complete CDS14, CDS15, CDS16 and CDS17 are now contained on the Magistrates Court Means Forms Guidance MAG(NOTES), instead of appearing at the back of each form.
The revised editions of CDS14, CDS15, CDS16 and CDS17 cannot be used before 1st November but any existing forms which are signed and dated before 1st November can be processed up to and including 30th November.
Finally, we have made minor fields amendments to CDS6, CMSF and all CMRF forms. Please refer to Efis No. 40/2007 for the restrictions regarding the submission of the CMSF and all CMRF forms via the Legal Services Commission’s website.
