***INFORMATION ONLY - NO FORMS TO DOWNLOAD***

The Immigration and Nationality Directorate (IND) at the Home Office will shortly be changing its title, which necessitates amendments to its forms.

In addition, the Government is planning to introduce new rules for applicants who want to apply for indefinite leave to remain or settle in the UK on or after 2nd April. In future, such applicants will be required to demonstrate that they possess a sufficient knowledge of language and life in the UK to qualify for settlement.

However, because Parliament has to consider proposals to change the fee structure for these applications, the IND cannot release the amended forms until Parliament has ratified these changes.

We understand that the extent and scale of these major changes to the Immigration rules and procedures will affect most (if not all) of the forms in this range.

The IND has advised us that a transitional provision in the amending Regulations will enable practitioners to submit the current forms for a period of 21 days after 2nd April.

The IND will post details of the amended fees on its website at www.ind.homeoffice.gov.uk .

We therefore suggest that immigration practitioners ensure that they submit the correct fee with any form which requires payment to be submitted to the IND on or after 2nd April to prevent the application being delayed until the correct fee is paid.

We will publish all the amended forms when the relevant information is known.
