EFIS 72, December 2006 : Conveyancing - Law Society

On EFIS No.60 in October, we supplied you with the four new business leases which the Law Society had drafted to comply with the new clauses in leases prescribed in Schedule 1A of the Land Registration (Amendment No. 2) Rules 2005. Unfortunately, the Law Society has notified us of an omission from clause 1.4 of the LS2 forms.

LS1(PART)(REG) and LS1(PART)(UNREG) are not affected by these corrections to the LS2 forms.

Acting upon the Law Society’s instructions, we have inserted a new clause 1.4(d) which concerns the recovery of the landlord’s costs in insuring the property under the lease.

The Law Society intends to announce this amendment in the Law Society’s Gazette.

The amended versions of both LS2(WHOLE)(REG) and LS2(WHOLE)(UNREG) must be used on receipt of these updates.
