EFIS 78, December 2005 : Immigration - Applications

On EFIS 50/2005 in September, we advised you that the Immigration (Leave to Remain) (Prescribed Forms and Procedures) (No.2) Regulations 2005 had represcribed the above forms.

The Immigration and Nationality Directorate of the Home Office has amended the non prescribed notes to clarify the situation regarding Civil Partnerships.

Immigration practitioners can use the updated versions of FLR(M) and SET(M) forms immediately.

The Civil Partnership Act 2004 came into force on 5th December.

Forms affected

FLR(M) Application for an extension of stay in the UK in one of the following categories: Spouse (husband or wife) of a person present and settled in the UK; Unmarried partner of a person present and settled in the UK New/Amended
SET(M) Application for indefinite leave to remain in the UK in one of the following categories, having completed a probationary 2 year period. New/Amended
