The Legal Services Commission has updated these forms in accordance with changes in Government policy and legislation.
The client's declaration has been reinstated on CLSAPP1 and CLSAPP3 together with information about Equal Opportunities Monitoring. CLSAPP3 has also been amended to refer to the Adoption and Children Act 2002 which will be implemented on 31st December 2005.
CLSAPP3 and CLSAPP8 have also been updated to reflect reforms to the New Focus and Funding Code. These reforms include the new power to refuse legal representation for ancillary relief and other financial cases where the client is able to arrange for his or her own funding.
In addition, CLSAPP8 has also been revised to exclude the cost incurred which relates to treatment, therapy or training.
Old versions of these forms which are signed on or before 2nd October will only be accepted until 25th October. Practitioners must not use these amended forms until 3rd October because the Legal Services Commission's Regional Offices will not accept them before this date.
Finally we take this opportunity to make macro amendments to form CDS7 which is available for your immediate use.
