EFIS 5, January 2005 : Right to Manage

The Leasehold Houses (Notice of Insurance Cover) (England) Regulations 2004 prescribe this form for use under section 164 of the Commonhold and Leasehold Reform Act 2002 in England from 28th February.
Where a long lease of a house requires the tenant to insure the house with an insurer which the landlord has either nominated or approved, the tenant can avoid this requirement, by serving the landlord with RTM6 which provides the landlord with the tenant's choice of insurer.
Because these 2004 Regulations do not come into force until 28th February, practitioners are advised not to use this form before this date.
