Changes have been made to the above forms which states that employers must check in order to avoid prosecution for employing illegal workers.
Secure documents such as passports, ID cards and other travel documents can be accepted on a stand alone basis and such documents are set out in a 'first list'. However, not all British Citizens have been issued with such documents and a 'second list' of documents has been produced from which employers can accept a combination of specified documents. Employers must ensure that documents produced relate to the job applicant in question.
