EFIS 38, October 2003 : Conveyancing - Law Society

You must login to download the contents of this EFIS.

Members of the Joint Working Party (JWP) who represent Oyez and the Law Society have produced a fourth edition of the Standard Conditions of Sale to reflect changes to SCS1 which have been made by the Land Registration Act 2002 and elements of the Commonhold and Leasehold Reform Act 2002 which are expected to come into force, early next year.

As currently, practitioners should purchase the Conditions themselves in form SCS2 when incorporating SCS1 by reference to the fourth edition of the Standard Conditions of Sale which should be used from 13th October, onwards.

An article explaining the background to these amendments is likely to appear in an October edition of the Law Society's Gazette.

Changes to the Standard Commercial Property Conditions (SCPC) will be considered by the Joint Working Party, later this year.
