The Court Service has amended form EX160 to reflect the substitution of Working Families Tax Credit and Disabled Persons Tax Credit for Working Tax Credit (that has a 'disability element') and Child Tax Credit. In future, Child Tax Credit will combine all income-related support for children and will be paid direct to the child's main carer whilst Working Tax Credit will be paid through an employee's earnings.
The notes, which accompany EX160, contain miscellaneous amendments to reflect these changes, including the (new) criteria for applicants seeking either exemption or remission of court fees.
These changes have been introduced by the Tax Credits Act 2002, which will come into force on 7th April 2003. The amended form and notes should not be used before this date.
