The Court of Protection (Amendment) Rules 2001 has made certain changes to the procedure for serving a notice upon a patient.

The Court of Protection has amended CP7 in accordance with these new Rules. In future, the person serving the patient must certify whether the patient appeared to understand the effect of the notice, which was served, upon him or her.

Since the Court of Protection (Amendment) Rules came into force on 1st October, practitioners are asked to use the enclosed form immediately.
