EFIS 13, March 2009 : Children Act

The Family Proceedings (Amendment) Rules 2009 and the Family Proceedings Courts (Children Act 1989) (Amendment) Rules 2009 both represcribe Children Act form C19 for use from 6th April.

Both sets of amending Regulations change C19 to refer to an application made under section 79 of the Childcare Act 2006.

From 6th April, applications for a warrant of assistance can also be made by Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector of Education, Children’s Services and Skills and Welsh ministers.

The current edition of C19 should not be used after 6th April when only the amended version of C19 should be used by practitioners.
